 I’m sure no one longs for cleaning window shutter time, but eventually that time will come and it’s something that must be done. Depending on your type of window shutter: interior, exterior, wood, vinyl, aluminum that will take you more or less time and effort. That’s probably the time when most people would wish to have chosen the type of shutter that requires little or no maintenance at all.

There’s no argument, exterior wood shutters are the ones that require more attention and care if you want them to last for a long time. Sure, they also provide for a unique look that so many people love – but you have to be willing to care for it. With the proper shutter cleaning and maintenance products, your wood shutters will be able to last for a lifetime. Aluminum shutter are a lot more resistant and can be left unattended for a much longer period of time. But when it comes to unattended performance, nothing comes close to the composite material and vinyl. Those are the easier to clean and maintain.

Interior shutters are a whole different story when cleaning window shutters … regular dusting is all it takes to keep them in perfect shape and looking good - not nearly as troublesome as their exterior shutter versions. So, if you have vinyl shutters, congratulations – cleaning will be a short task seldom done; wood shutter owners beware, you’ll need to devote quite a bit of caring time to keep your house looking as good as you want it to.
